    When we first met Andrew Dummar, owner of The Stucco Company, he had two goals: to improve every aspect of his traditionally low tech business by using technology, and to tell every contractor who would listen.

In less than five years, The Stucco Company has roared out of Idaho to take the commercial stucco industry by storm. With crews and depots from California to Florida and a new headquarters in Austin, Texas, this company is experiencing phenomenal growth even in the face of a major building slowdown.

Our job was to communicate Andrew's vision to America. We started with The Stucco Company logo. Our client wanted to keep the map of America as a design element to reflect patriotism and to show that The Stucco Company works nationwide. We created a logo designed to retain the message but remove the clutter. The new logo can be recreated in any size, converted to grey scale and animated while leaving no doubt that the company spans the USA in red, white and blue.

The next assignment was to produce a video that illustrated everything Andrew Dummar believed made his company better suited for large commercial stucco application than any of the competition. The fact that it was all true made our job easy.

Utilizing a punchy, informative script and the quick cut technique of sports high light packages, we combined location footage, still photos and motion graphics to tell The Stucco Company story. An honest, candid statement from the president concluded the presentation.

Now we needed to deliver the message. The website we built at stuccousa.com closely mirrored the theme and message of the video. We put the video on the site so sales people could email the link to everyone they spoke with.

The website also enables features that can't be included in a video like pages that display slide shows of projects. There are so many projects now that recently, we grouped them into construction categories.

Not only can contractors see how a project is shaping up, they can also send their clients to look at some of their better work.

After designing the company letterhead, we came up with a presentation folder that could hold an intro letter, financials, the DVD and a business card. These are particularly effective at networking functions and trade shows where a marketer gets a few brief and valuable minutes to speak personally with a potential client.

You'd think after five years of unabated expansion and new sales records being set each month, Mr. Dummar might be content to take his foot off the marketing and advertising gas pedal. On the contrary, The Stucco Company's marketing budget increases each year to keep step with all the new markets being opened. The newest product we're working on is Category Folios; four-sided, full color folders that feature one of the eight types of construction categories that The Stucco Company specializes in.
